Job Overview:
Responsible for the direction of Monmouth Medical Center s Special Care Center:
Geriatrics Department, Center for Arthritis and Rheumatologic Conditions & Center For Diabetes Education.
Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating the management and clinical practice activities at the Special Care Center.
Leads services in a dynamic process of adaptation to service goals, changes in the healthcare system and response to customer demands.
Fosters autonomy, accountability and professional & personal growth & development of staff.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor s DegreeMinimum of five years experience in an ambulatory health settingMinimum of five years management experienceCritical thinking and analytical skills a mustGeneral knowledge of Physician Compensation models and Contract TerminologyMicrosoft Office proficient Preferred:
Master s DegreeExperience overseeing multiple locationsEffective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, medical practice accounting, third party reimbursement issues, patient flow and facilities managementPrior experience working in a clinical capacity
Essential Functions:
Apply financial principles and practices in preparing and managing annual operating/capital budgets that support department goalsDeveloping staffing patterns reflective of needed hours for patient care and appropriate staff mixDemonstrate proactive approach to daily operation of department Supervise department business functions-reports, records, documents, time sheets, schedules, invoices and collectionOversee registration, billing and scheduling functions for Special Care Center Responsible for development and coordination of MMC s Department of Geriatrics van transportation serviceEffectively communicate with medical staff on behalf of patients and nursingCollaborate with chairman of departments & medical staff for Special Care Center servicesCollaborate with Marketing /PR department & community organizations to increase Special Care Center s market share by promoting programs, services and physiciansParticipate in community education & outreach while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of community organizations to promote department servicesEnsure knowledge of standards of care and communicating acceptable practice standards through evaluation of outcomes and staff performanceParticipate in selection and review of standards of care for clinical areaResponsible for compliance with regulatory requirements from JCAHO, NJDOH, OSHA, ADA and others as applicableEstablish and maintain an environment that encourages risk-taking, autonomy and change as appropriateAct as a resource and role model for staff & colleagues.
