Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for auditing various DDD group homes and supervised apartments to ensure compliance with all the DDD guidelines and requirements.
Quality Assurance Specialist will assist with the implementation of the established standards placed on this agency by governing bodies which may include organizations such as NJ DDD, NJ Department of Human Services, Medicaid, and laws such as HIPAA.
Also, as part of the Quality Assurance team assures that agency-wide Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of Three years' experience in the area of DDD Residential Services Driver's license valid in the State of NJ with good driving record Shall be at least 18 years of age or older Employee must cooperate with the licensee and Department staff in any inspection or investigation.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Complete Quality Assurance routine audits on various programs throughout the state of NJ.
Complete unannounced visits on a rotating basis at all assigned locations during varying shifts.
Provide findings and results to the Director of Quality Assurance in a timely manner and provide accurate action plans that should be taken to establish compliance in each location.
Circles back to the program site to ensure the action plan has been addressed within the designated timeline.
Conducting training with Senior Coordinators and Coordinators at various locations based off audit result findings.
Trainings must foster a highly developed understanding of rules and regulations from government bodies and regulatory statutes Work along side Senior Coordinators and Coordinators to complete and improve deficits that are noted during auditing the program within the designated timeline.
Assess medication administration records (MARs), OTC forms, prescription dates, and renewals.
Review of all doctor appointments for follow up and timeliness along with documentation on missed or rescheduled doctor appointments to include annual physicals, annual dentals, and move in medical appointment documentation.
Reviews all health and safety regulatory statutes such as completion of fire drills, whether routine drills, move in drills, or special circumstances drills, as well as Emergency Evacuation Plans, and Emergency Evacuation Assessments of each individual served for accuracy.
Provides feedback and trains Management team members on deficiencies noted in a timely fashion.
Reviews Individual Support Plans (ISPs) of all Service Recipients to ensure accuracy and works with the Management team members to update and revise the plans accordingly in a timely fashion.
Reviews the Specialized Trainings of all Service Recipients, to include but not limited to, textured diets, training on medical diagnosis (i.
e.
, Diabetes, etc.
), and durable medical equipment, to ensure accuracy and works with the Management team members on deficiencies noted in a timely fashion.
In cooperation with other agency regulatory statutes, maintain Medicaid Compliance/billing quality, client's rights and HIPAA/Security & Privacy.

Fulfillment of the job responsibilities takes place in the residences, agency, and in the community.
Work is reviewed by the supervisor according to the policies of PennReach, Inc.
This review includes such things as random site visits, systematic assessments, and employee evaluations.
The Quality Assurance Specialist must be able to exercise patience, work with flexible schedules, and respond to crisis situations.
The ability to effectively communicate with other team members, other agencies and members of the community is crucial to successful integration.
The position also requires the full use of good judgment and common sense during daily affairs.
Professional communication and appropriate language, whether written or oral, is essential in everyday activities.
This communication may be with any person involved in the life of the individuals served.
Ingenuity and creativity must be utilized when determining the best training methods, assistance and supports for an individual.
